Thank you for your comments, Randy and Carolyn. I agree, Randy, they are very interesting birds. I hoping that the two that visit my yard right now, will eventually show up with some chicks. I didn't know that the chicks sometimes turned on each other. Once, we had two chicks....and then there was only one....hmmmm.

This is the first image of a crane that I have seen strutting like this. Great capture!

My wife's studio is a solid wall of windows, and they would see their image and literally I would have to clean their messes off the windows every day. They hit so hard, I thought they would break the double panes of glass. If they have twins, one parent is usually seen with one chick and the other parent with the other, as the dominant chick will actually try to kill the less aggressive one. Very interesting birds!

Wish I could have seen that! I have been warned to stay a safe distance away from them and your story reinforces that thought. Thanks, Randy. :)

Love seeing them strut, as long as they aren't having a fight with their image in the large windows in my wife's studio! They can be ferocious! This one is absolutely beautifully captured! Very well done, Carol!
